May 19

Here is the letter I got for being called as the District Leader.  I can't wait for all the meetings I "get" to go to.  Tomorrow more new missionaries will be coming in.  Within the month, we will go from 1600 missionaries to 2300.  Tons!!!  Tonight Elder Hinckley and his wife spoke to us.  The thing I really got from him was to be able to write in our journals after the last day of our mission and to be able to write "I'm glad I did" and not "I wish I would have"  That what we all need to be able to write in our journals at our last day.

Dear Family,

Glad you got the pictures!  Sorry you didn't get a letter with them . . . Elder Nash (short one with dark hair) got a Cinco de Mayo package that came with the mustaches!!!  Yeah, there was a huge stack of mail that day.  Everyone was so excited about the stack of mail.  We got 50 letters total that day.  The Dr. Pepper is good, but all we drink now are cactus coolers.  I got a letter from coach . . . I need to send him a pic of me and scooby-doo!  I bet the kids are way happy to be amost done with school.  The weather here has been great.  We go out to the field.  Then with the way the reorganized our schedule we have an hour after gym to get ready everyday, so we just go sit and chill in the sun for like 30 minutes a day.

Tell Grant to send me a picture of his new watch.  My Nike one is ok, but I am going to get a cool one in Paraguay.  Would love some more ties from Savers or DI.  Remember this Spencer, take tons of ties to trade on your mission.  It's like going to Reno when we would trade singlets!  Mom, I also need some socks!

District Leader

Just finished emailing Taylor.  He is doing so great!  The language and the lessons are really coming along and he is loving what he is doing.  With that being said . . . he is very ready to head to Paraguay!!!  In his email he told us that he is the new District Leader from now until they leave in June.  We are proud of all that he is doing and the great missionary that he is!

The Spanish Rocks!!!

Thanks for the Dear Elder today.  It sounds like you had a good Mother's Day.  I wish I could eat at Angells.  All we get here is pre-made food that gets heated up by the deep fat fryer.  It's about time ya got rid of those chicks too!  Also, it is good you are working so much . . . make some more money!  I did get the Cinco de Mayo package . . It was good.  We ate all of it!

Tell McCall I saw her pictures.  Hopefully Spencer can play football somewhere.  M'Kay better send me a bag of seeds.  I sent him an email.

Thanks for the Hump Day letter too.  And Dad, I can't wait to get to Paraguay!  And before we all know it I'll be home.  1 down, 12 to go.  And if it goes by that fast . . . SWEET!

Also since M'Kay is making so much money, tell him he needs to send me seeds.  Tell Spencer when he gets to the MTC he will gain all the weight he wants.  They feeds us like they are sending us to the slaughter house!

Ya'll remember Scooby Doo?  Derrek Gerrett, he got here today.  He is in the room down the hall.  But he is in our zone.  He is going to Pittsburgh.

Today (5-12-11) I got my box of yummies.  Thanks.  Tell Grandma I got her letter, but I struggled to understand what was written in some parts.  This morning I felt so cruddy - - couldn't focus on anything.  but then I walked around for a bit.  We were walking over to the TRC (this is where they practice teaching the lessons to investigators and people who pose as investigators.  They never know if they are real or not)   and I said to Elder Bartlome  "I got this!"  Got to the TRC - - blew out a 35 minute lesson in Spanish with Elder Lamb.  Blew it out of the water.  Bore my testimony for like 10 minutes about stuff - - and it was sweet!

Got 3 and a half weeks left.  AWESOME!!  And, I got a letter from Saige today.  Had some great pics in it.  So basically, today turned out to be a great day.
