May 19

Here is the letter I got for being called as the District Leader.  I can't wait for all the meetings I "get" to go to.  Tomorrow more new missionaries will be coming in.  Within the month, we will go from 1600 missionaries to 2300.  Tons!!!  Tonight Elder Hinckley and his wife spoke to us.  The thing I really got from him was to be able to write in our journals after the last day of our mission and to be able to write "I'm glad I did" and not "I wish I would have"  That what we all need to be able to write in our journals at our last day.

Dear Family,

Glad you got the pictures!  Sorry you didn't get a letter with them . . . Elder Nash (short one with dark hair) got a Cinco de Mayo package that came with the mustaches!!!  Yeah, there was a huge stack of mail that day.  Everyone was so excited about the stack of mail.  We got 50 letters total that day.  The Dr. Pepper is good, but all we drink now are cactus coolers.  I got a letter from coach . . . I need to send him a pic of me and scooby-doo!  I bet the kids are way happy to be amost done with school.  The weather here has been great.  We go out to the field.  Then with the way the reorganized our schedule we have an hour after gym to get ready everyday, so we just go sit and chill in the sun for like 30 minutes a day.

Tell Grant to send me a picture of his new watch.  My Nike one is ok, but I am going to get a cool one in Paraguay.  Would love some more ties from Savers or DI.  Remember this Spencer, take tons of ties to trade on your mission.  It's like going to Reno when we would trade singlets!  Mom, I also need some socks!
